The first half of this story follows a future bride as she discusses how she views love, marriage and relationships with her best friend who has married before. The second half is an excerpt from her wedding's vows, along with pictures from their actual wedding day. Anticipating what your husband will say at your wedding can help relieve some anxiety before you walk down that aisle! According to author A. B. James: "I wrote this book to help the bride on her wedding day, and all those months leading up to it. I got tired of reading and hearing about wedding horror stories. I figured if we prepared better for something like a wedding, we would have more success and less stress... If you believe in true love then you must believe that love is worth fighting for." A.B James was born on April 8, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois as the youngest daughter of James and Cleva (Campbell) Thomas. She had three older sisters: Pamela Ann, Yvette Denise and Yolanda Denise. The Thomas family lived in the rough neighborhood of Englewood, a place A.B. James says she will never forget. A.B. James attended school at the John Burroughs Elementary school from first grade to third grade, where she was frequently teased for being "too black." In fourth grade she transferred to the Daniel Hale Williams Elementary School, which was a couple of blocks from where they lived on Chicago's south side, and where she spent the rest of her elementary education. After that, A.B.'s parents had her attend King Junior High School and Fenger High School where she graduated in 1990."I think I was a little too smart for them" says A. B. James. A.B. James attended the Chicago State University College of Liberal Studies, majoring in English and Psychology. She was an active member of the Delta Upsilon social fraternity at CSU, where she was also president of her graduating class for both her junior and senior years.(1991-1993) James resided with her husband, Joseph (Feng), for eight years before moving to Texas with Feng in December 2014. They currently reside in Houston, TX. They speak some French together which A.B James learned while living in France on many trips with Feng's family as their exchange student during her high school years through college. "Tears of a Bride: A Novel" was written and published by A.B. James and her husband, Joseph (Feng). A.B James is an author of two books, with one being "Tears of a Bride: A Novel" and the other being her soon to be released book "Vows for the Love Birds". A.B James speaks as an inspirational speaker as well as consultant on many topics such as marriage, family, love and relationships at various seminars, workshops and conventions around the nation. Her goal is to spread positive energy and help others find their way to a more meaningful life through better understanding themselves and those around them.
